Res-Vitae is the product of a family tradition that started back in 1979 when Dr. Scott O. Galbreath, Jr (DVM), founded the Old South Winery. After our muscadine wine tested for antioxidant levels higher than Bordeaux wines, we realized that that there were great potential health benefits in muscadines themselves.
In the mid 90′s Dr. Galbreath started producing a muscadine supplement made of the antioxidant rich skin and seeds. It was called New-U, because that’s the way it made people feel. Customers and friends spoke about how good their joints felt and even how their good cholesterol went up and the bad went down.
In the first stages, the whole family was involved in the process it seemed. When I would visit for Thanksgiving and Christmas I was put to work helping fill capsules with grape skin and seed powder. From there we began to dry and grind the muscadine powder and then have it shipped out to Utah to be bottled and packaged in a drier environment to preserve a fresher product.
After over a decade of people feeling good and some even living longer, we are re-branding New-U and bringing Res-Vitae to you.
